Inspired by the practice of water puppetry, a kind of art associated with the Northern Delta's wet rice civilisation and shown during festivals, particularly Tet. Derived from the simple life of farmers: from materials found around the house such as fig wood, and painted boats, the farmers turned into artists to create puppet images that were both close and elaborate. During her time as a performer and accompanist, with a few minutes of performance to tell the inanimate puppet faces, many vivid stories are the rhythmic coordination between dozens of artists behind the stage. We have portrayed this art with Tet gift boxes in an effort to support the preservation of cultural heritage and provide a special gift for the Lunar New Year.
Making the primary box characters from the likeness of Chu Teu and Co Tien, two typical figures in the water puppetry genre.
